Our problem with personal finances today:
and how this Substack will solve those for you.
Here’s our issue with money.
We don’t pay attention to it.
We don’t talk about it with anyone.
You might think you are in control of your finances, but I have plenty of personal experience to know that just looking at your checking account balance when you need (or want) to buy something doesn’t equal “control”. For so many years, even when I did have a budget, it sat on the sidelines while I treated my checking account like it was my actual budget.
Just got paid? Balance feels high? —> Spend.
Balance feels low? Payday is another week away? —> Don’t spend.
While this might perceive control, it’s not actually the case. No one today is going to sift through every transaction in your account and do lots of math to figure out where your money is going when stressful times inevitably come. So then what do we do? We try to get by with less sleep, developing anxiety, and frustration…in silence…
Money is something we don’t talk about because we have to keep up the persona that we have it. And somehow we reconcile with ourselves that is the better option than to learn from each other and to maybe even figure it all out.
If you come across this Substack…
Consider joining the Club. Because I’m on a mission to help you:
Pay attention to your money.
Talk about it with people.
I will teach you how to:
Budget using a simple structure that will make paying attention to your money easy to do.
Discover your purpose with money, so you know exactly where you’re going and how to maximize what you’re doing right now.
Design a system for your money that allows you to save and invest toward generational impact.
Automate your system, so you can live life.
And ultimately develop a lifestyle that’s in control and surrounded by good community.
If you’re young, you aren’t thinking about your money during the time in your life that it is most valuable (I’m telling you. Your dollar is worth more than my dollar). And of course if you’re not thinking about it you’re certainly not talking about it with anyone either.
So let’s change that.
Join the Club and get ready go on this journey together through 2026. If you come along, I know you’ll turn around this time next year and wonder how you made it so far.
